Guidelines for your 500-word Essay are on December 8th’s page. Please note that that is the due date.
Plan for Finishing Frankenstein
Your goal for today is to finish Frankenstein and watch the two clips from the 1994 film adaptation Mary Shelley’s Frankenstein. Personally, I like the film, but I could see how it’s perhaps a bit overly dramatic and over acted in places. If you can find the entire film, it might help to watch it, but don’t think it’ll replace reading the novel.
Head over to Canvas. On our class’s homepage, I have a link to “Mary Shelley’s Frankenstein Video Clips” under the Film Clips for Class heading. There are only two clips this time–one about 7 min long and the other just over 13 min long. I also have some discussion to guide your watching.
Next Class
First thing–YOU WON’T HAVE A WEEKLY DISCUSSION POST FOR NEXT WEEK!!!
Instead, I’m going to make the last discussion post (#14) 40 points instead of 20, which should provide a nice boost. That way, we’ll still have the weekly discussion posts worth a total of 300 points for the semester.
On Tuesday, 11/24, you’ll have Test 2 on Canvas. Unlike the previous tests, this one can’t be open the entire week because we’re on break. After next week, we’ve got three weeks left in the semester. You’ll have your 500-word essay due Tuesday, Dec. 8th and your Final Exam on Dec. 22nd (and I hope I can open that up earlier…I’ll get back to you on that).
Yes, you still have a discussion post for this week, so respond to prompt #11 on Canvas before Friday, 11/20, at 11:00 pm.
