POSTDOCTORAL POSITION – Plant Biology – the University of North Carolina at Charlotte
DESCRIPTION: The Song lab at the Department of Biological Sciences at UNC Charlotte focuses on understanding genetic basis of complex trait variation related to agriculture and human health integrating molecular genetics, evolution, biochemistry, and omics approaches in wild soybeans. We are seeking a well-motivated postdoctoral associate to lead research projects that focus on understanding molecular mechanisms of biochemistry diversity and evolution. Specific tasks include phenotyping, Genome-wide association studies, QTL mapping, candidate gene selection, and functional validation. The candidate must be passionate and hard-working, able to create an environment that fosters diversity, and ability to work in a multi-cultural setting.
QUALIFICATIONS: Recent Ph.D. degree in Plant Biology, Biochemistry, or related disciplines. The candidate must have demonstrated extensive training and hands-on experience in experimental design and implementation, data collection, data analysis, and manuscript preparation. Demonstrated experience with genome editing, ~omic data analysis (Proteomics, GWAS, QTL mapping etc.) is highly desirable. The successful candidate must have effective verbal and written communication skills.
