Internship Opportunities for UNC Charlotte German Students
Our collaboration with the German-American businesses has led to numerous internship opportunities for our students. Since 2010 we have placed 25 students in internships ranging form 1-2 months to an entire year.
In the Charlotte region, we are particularly grateful to Kühne & Nagel, groninger, Continental Tire, Steag LLC, Tesa Tape USA, and Waldthausen Inc. for hosting many of our students as interns.
German students at UNC Charlotte have the opportunity to apply to the AMCHAM internship program http://www.amchaminternship.org, hosted by the American Chamber of Commerce in Frankfurt and Bridgehouse Law in Atlanta. Students can work as paid interns in companies such as Hitachi, Porsche, and DHL in Germany for three months during the summer.
UNC-EP Internship Pilot Program
German students at UNC Charlotte are the first to be able to participate in the UNC-EP Internship pilot program. Our student is studying business and German at Mannheim University in Spring 2015 and then had the opportunity to apply to continue in Germany for a three month internship. He was hired by Deutsch Bank in Frankfurt and will be the inaugural recipient of this internship.
Schloss-Schule Kirchberg, Germany
Two German students are invited to apply for a one-year, paid internship at the international boarding school, Schloss-Schule Kirchberg in Germany each year. Since 2010, we send one male and one female student as a Language Assistant to the school, where they teach 5th grade English and assist with the daily life at the boarding school.
