Wei Zhao is an Associate Professor of Sociology and of Organizational Science at UNC Charlotte. His research focuses on economic sociology, organizational sociology, social stratification, and Chinese society. His current research projects examine social inequality, organizational practices, and inter-organizational relationship during China’s market transition. He has also conducted a series of studies on how institutional classification systems affect market status and valuation in the California and French wine industries.
